Euclyd: Breaking the AI efficiency wall

In our Breakthrough Technologies series, we spotlight companies at High Tech Campus Eindhoven developing technologies that shape what comes next. Let’s dive into the technology, people and ambitions behind Euclyd.

Every question asked of an AI model is answered by tens of thousands of chips in a data center, and, as the world is beginning to understand, those chips use an extraordinary amount of power.

Euclyd, a High Tech Campus Eindhoven resident since it was founded in 2024, is designing an AI inference chip it says will be 100 times more energy efficient than anything on the market today. While that’s an ambitious target, the team behind it has the experience and funding to achieve it.

What is Euclyd building?
Euclyd is building infrastructure to make AI inference cheaper and more efficient, combining custom silicon, novel memory architecture and datacenter systems. Its flagship products are craftwerk, described as the first agentic AI silicon, and craftwerk station, an exascale AI factory built for low power use. Euclyd says it’s building a chip that is 100 times more energy-efficient than what’s on the market.

When was Euclyd founded?
Euclyd was founded in 2024.

Where is Euclyd based?
Euclyd is headquartered at High Tech Campus Eindhoven Building HTC 42 and has offices in San Jose, California.

Who are the people behind Euclyd?

  • Bernardo Kastrup, Founder & CEO, former Silicon Hive (sold to Intel), former Philips
  • Atul Sinha, Euclyd Founder and Advisor, former CEO Silicon Hive, former Intel Corp., former Philips and Co-founder of GrAI Matter Labs (acquired by Snap), Preceyes and Microsure.
  • Ingolf Held, Euclyd Co-founder & VP of Product, former Snap, former CEO GrAI Matter Labs (acquired by Snap), former Intel Corp., former Silicon Hive, former Philips Semiconductors (now NXP).
  • Gerard Egelmeers, Co-founder Sr. VP of Systems, former Intel Corp., former Silicon Hive, former Philips
  • Harm Peters, Co-founder & Sr. VP Silicon; former Intel Corp., former Silicon Hive, former Philips Research

Who are the key early investors in Euclyd?
Euclyd is backed by Steven Schuurman, Federico Faggin and Peter Wennink, former CEO of ASML.

How much money has Euclyd raised?
Euclyd announced it secured more than €200 million in September 2026. The Series A round of funding was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, Scaleup Europe Fund, which is managed by EQT and Innovation Industries, with participation from EIFO, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, imec.xpand, Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and Quadri.

What is Euclyd’s stage of development?
Euclyd has already developed a chip for AI inference and is currently developing a multi-chiplet system, which will process faster than the current iteration of its product. Euclyd aims to produce this system by 2028. Does Euclyd have partners and/or customers?
Yes. Euclyd is working with Samsung and has a partnership with ADTechnology in South Korea’s largest semiconductor design house. It is in negotiations with four potential customers, said Kastrup, two of which the company hopes to begin supplying next year and two the year after.
