Recap April:
Sustainable Innovation Day
On April 12, Sustainable Innovation Day with CKC Seminars took place in the Conference Center at The Strip, the High Tech Campus Eindhoven. Several professionals in the field of Sustainability, Innovation, IT and more inspired more than two hundred visitors during seminars and small break-outs where visitors where divided in different work groups.
Eurest@HighTechCampus provided the catering for the event. We considered it a great honor to contribute to a sustainable food experience during this day! Sustainability is one of our most important core values which is reflected in our food service. 🥗
Through storytelling, we served various food items in a sustainable way. All food items were vegetarian, from local suppliers and had their own unique story.
To give you an idea about what we have served: no waste bananabread & carrot cake, futureproof salads & a sandwich with avocado and muhamarra made from local bread, a risotto 'bitterbal' with leftover vegetables & homemade veggie sushi. 🥑
All day long, visitors could re-fill their Join The Pipe City Water bottle with fresh fruit / herbs water. Also, we added a Brainfood bar during the break to recharge our visitors! Think of different items such as fruits, walnuts, fairtrade dark chocolate which boosts the well-being for a good concentration, fresh mind & a dose of happiness.
Also the coffee/tea break was served with the sustainable tea from Newby and the tracable coffee bean from Nula. By serving these vegetarian-, leftover- ánd local products, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gases and food waste during this event! 💚
We hope to have inspired you with some examples of our Sustainable Foodies! ENJOY. 🤩
World Health Day
World Health Day took place on April 7! This day is all about health. World Health Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birthday of the founder of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948.
At Eurest@HighTechCampus, health is central all year round. Our chefs prepare delicious meals with extra focus on good food! During World Health Day, we shared an infographic online that shows what we do in the field of health.
Earth Day & Stop Food Waste Day
Every year a total of 1 million plastic bottles end up in nature worldwide and in the Netherlands billions of paper cups are thrown away every year. These numbers are alarming and unnecessarily burden the environment. During Earth Day (but also throughout the year) we draw attention to this on The Strip. We encourage our guests to bring their own drinking bottle or thermos. In this way we hope to reduce the sale of plastic bottles and cardboard coffee cups.
Stop Food Waste Day took place on April 27. During this day, the fight against food waste is central. At Eurest@HighTechCampus we fight against food waste every day. We process leftover products such as vegetables in soups, sauces and pastries. You can also find us in the Too Good To Go application!
Find The Golden Egg!
In the week before Easter, we hid a total of five golden eggs at Lokl, Daely, T'lab, Grand Café The Lucky Swan and Brave New World. The lucky finders were allowed to pick up a brunch package at Lokl!
The brunch package was full of delicious products such as sandwiches, chocolate eggs, prosecco, lemonade, Join The Pipe City Water, popcorn, bread spreads and other delicacies.
Ramadan and Kingsday pastries
April 1 Ramadan has started! The whole month of April we sold dates at Lokl. Dates are used to break the fast at sunset.
On April 27, the whole of the Netherlands celebrated; King's Day! To celebrate this, we sold orange pastries at Lokl and T'lab on April 25 and 26. Nice to take home, or to eat with a colleague on location!
