Are you passionate about architecting the core intelligence of next-generation wireless systems? Our company is pioneering the future of wireless communication—developing a cutting-edge long-range, device-to-device system designed for high data rates, ultra-low latency, and exceptional resilience in challenging interference environments.

As a Senior DSP/Wireless Communications Engineer, you will be at the heart of this innovation. You will research, design, model, and validate advanced Physical Layer (PHY) and lower-MAC algorithms that define the performance and capabilities of our novel communication links. This includes exploring and integrating advanced techniques, potentially including machine learning, to solve complex wireless challenges. If you are driven to develop groundbreaking algorithms, simulate their real-world impact, and collaborate to see them realized in hardware, this is your defining moment!

Skills & Abilities Required

  • A genuine passion for research, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of wireless technology, with a winning attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex and abstract technical challenges.
  • Comfortable navigating complex, fast-paced R&D environments with evolving technological landscapes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for the wireless Physical Layer (PHY) and innovative lower-MAC concepts.
  • Model and simulate the complete PHY and relevant MAC functionalities using tools like MATLAB/Python, focusing on performance analysis, trade-off studies, and validation of new algorithms.
  • Algorithm design and specification for critical PHY components, including but not limited to advanced OFDM techniques, MIMO systems (including beamforming, spatial multiplexing, interference mitigation), robust channel estimation and equalization, adaptive modulation and coding (AMC), and sophisticated synchronization schemes.
  • Investigate and apply machine learning (ML) techniques to enhance PHY/MAC performance, such as for channel state information (CSI) prediction, adaptive resource allocation, interference characterization, or anomaly detection.
  • Define system-level requirements, algorithm specifications, and performance metrics for hand-off to FPGA/hardware implementation teams.
  • Collaborate closely with FPGA engineers to ensure algorithms are implementable and to provide guidance during the hardware design and verification phases.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot system-level performance issues, identifying bottlenecks and proposing algorithmic enhancements.
  • Contribute to the architecture of testbeds and validation strategies for PHY/MAC algorithms.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of algorithms, system models, simulation results, and performance analyses.
  • Stay abreast of emerging wireless communication standards, technologies, and research to drive innovation.
  • Participate in R&D business development and capture efforts as needed, including contributing to technical proposals and white papers.
